BRETT KUNKLE is the co-founder and president of MAVEN, a movement committed to equipping the next generation to know truth, pursue goodness, and create beauty. With more than 30 years of ministry experience, Brett has dedicated his life to helping students, parents, and leaders develop a thoughtful, confident, and biblically grounded faith. He also serves as a Teaching Fellow at the Impact 360 Institute and is the co-planter and co-pastor of Imago Dei Church in North Tustin, California. Before launching MAVEN, Brett served as Director of Student Impact at Stand to Reason, as Pastor of Student Ministries at Creekside Church, and as Junior High Pastor and College Co-Pastor at Chino Valley Community Church.
Brett is widely recognized for his work in apologetics, worldview, culture, and evangelism. He founded MAVEN’s Immersive Experience worldview mission trips, which train high school and college students in theology, apologetics, and worldview before leading them into real-world conversations with skeptics, atheists, Mormons, and others non-believers. He also founded Stand to Reason’s Reality Apologetics Conference, formerly the reTHINK Student Apologetics Conference, and helped expand it into a multi-state student apologetics event.
In addition to speaking nationally and internationally, Brett is the co-author of A Practical Guide to Culture: Helping the Next Generation Navigate Today’s World and A Student’s Guide to Culture. He also served as associate editor for the Apologetics Study Bible for Youth and contributed chapters to several books, including A New Kind of Apologist and Apologetics for an Emerging Generation. Brett earned his M.A. in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics from Talbot School of Theology and his B.A. in Christian Education from Biola University. He and his wife, Erin, have been married since 1997 and have five children. They live in Southern California.
